AbstractThe frequency of the residual staphylococcal carriage among the children who live in rural area having different levels and patterns of environmental pollution is estimated. A relationship is found between the frequency of the residual staphylococcal carriage and the rate of technogenic pollution of the ambient air. The findings suggest that the staphylococcal carriage among children may be used as an index of the unfavorable environment.
