AbstractEmpathy has been written about for over a Century. It occurs as a non-judgemental clinician-patient relationship with powerful effects. The clinician develops particularly careful listening and observation skills using his "body analyser". He indicates to his patient that he understood his affects and accepts them. The patient feeling understood would generally suffer less, comply better with the treatment, which will have a better outcome. However, empathy isn't always easy to feel, but it can be learned and improved.
