    AbstractNecrotizing fasciitis is rarely caused by Pasteurella multocida, a facultative anaerobic gram-negative coccobacillus found in the flora of the oro-gastrointestinal tract of many animals. We describe a rare case with overwhelming septicaemia resulting in multiple organ failure.
