    Healthy children with invasive community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections.

    AbstractReports of community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) infections in the pediatric community have exploded during the past decade. These infections typically result in mild skin and soft tissue infections that can be managed simply with oral antimicrobials. Recently, there have been reports of invasive CA-MRSA infecting children without risk factors, with isolated cases of life-threatening disease. We report 2 atypical cases of invasive CA-MRSA infecting previously healthy children.
