AbstractSince October, 1980, we have used transurethral fulguration of the diverticular mucosa and incision of the diverticular neck in combination with electrohydraulic lithotripsy of bladder stones and transurethral prostatic resection to treat all aspects of diverticula in 11 patients. In comparing the results with those of open diverticulectomy, we found the transurethral procedure to be equally effective while being safer, faster, and less expensive.
