AbstractIn this 'Featuring the editor' article, we introduce Assoc. Professor Alexandros G. Georgakilas as the guest editor for this Special Issue of Cancer Letters. His main research, educational and editorial achievements in his academic career are presented with emphasis on the various milestones of his involvement in science for more than twenty years. His primary interests in research focus on various radiation and cancer biology aspects especially the involvement of clustered DNA lesions in carcinogenesis.Copyright © 2012 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
