    AbstractAxillary hyperhidrosis is characterized by an increased amount of sweat production, localized to the armpits, to compensate for environmental conditions and to control thermoregulation. It affects about 3.12% of the US population. It has a significant effect on one's psychological and physical health, as well as one's occupational life. The objective of this paper is to review the epidemiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, histology, genetics, and management and treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis.
