AbstractThe diagnosis of SLE is associated with an enlarging assortment of autoantibodies. The presence or absence of particular antibodies influences the confidence with which this diagnosis is made. It is the presence of autoantibodies and the deposit of immunoglobulin that has led to the general conclusion that lupus is an autoimmune disease.
