AbstractEight years on from the introduction of annual health checks for older people in primary care, the authors describe how this initiative was introduced and developed in one of the largest general practices in the UK. Although health checks do not easily fit into a model of screening for disease, one in four have resulted in some form of referral to meet an identified need.
