AbstractLung transplantation from a donor with chronic renal failure has never been reported. This paper reports our successful experience with 2 transplants from donors with end-stage renal disease who were on chronic hemodialysis, and reviews the relevant literature on the effects of renal failure on pulmonary function and on the use of marginal donors.
