AbstractThe 1995 hurricane season was one of the most severe in U.S. history and included 11 hurricanes. During a 2-week period, the two most damaging storms--hurricanes Marilyn and Opal--made landfall in the United States. To characterize the deaths attributed to these storms, CDC contacted medical examiners/coroners (ME/Cs) in the affected areas. This report summarizes the findings of these investigations.
