AbstractPolycythaemia vera or primary polycythaemia is a myeloproliferative disorder which is rare in dogs and cats. A case of polycythaemia vera in a dog is described and the available forms of therapy and the problems connected with therapy which may be encountered by veterinary surgeons in general practice are discussed.
