AbstractTwo cases concerning reuse of plastic-coated introducers (intended for single-use only) for intubation of children are described. If breaks in the coating occur, the airway can be compromised and removal of the broken piece of the plastic-coating can the treacherous. In this paper, the probable causes of the incidents are discussed and suggestions for avoiding breakage are outlined.
