AbstractPATHOLOGY CORRELATIONS: The Korsakoff syndrome results from cerebral lesions due to thiamine depletion, usually of alcoholic etiology. Other nutritional, or genetic factors, could be implicated. Exceptionally, it results from thalamic disease or a tumor of the third ventricle floor.
