AbstractTWO CLINICAL SITUATIONS: Mechanical circulatory assistance can be indicated in two clinical situations: i) patients on the waiting list for heart transplantation who have chronic heart failure unresponsive to drug therapy and whose clinical status worsens; ii) patients with acute heart failure.
