ObjectiveThis study was designed to examine the internal consistency, test-retest reliability, construct, and concurrent validity of the Trust in Nurses Scale (TNS) in hospitalized patients with cancer in China.MethodsBetween October and December 2016, the Chinese version of TNS and Nurse-Patient Trust Scale were applied to assess 190 patients with cancer in a general hospital. A subsample of 70 patients completed the TNS again 1 week later.ResultsThe Chinese version of the TNS had good internal consistency (α=0.817), fair test-retest reliability (r=0.866), and confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated good fit for a four-item version of the TNS.ConclusionThe Chinese TNS exhibited sufficient validity and reliability in hospitalized patients with cancer.
