    Key TakewaysEggs can be part of a healthy diet. Epidemiologic evidence and clinical trials have found no links between egg intake and increased risk for heart disease. Eggs are a good source of high-quality protein. Eggs, in addition to numerous vitamins and minerals, contain compounds including choline, lutein, and zeaxanthin with functions that go beyond nutrition as they protect against chronic disease.
