AbstractSodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2I) is a new type of hypoglycemic drug that targets the kidney. As research continues to advance on this topic, it has been found that SGLT2I has multiple protective effects, such as hypoglycemic, cardio-renal protective, antihypertensive, and lipid-lowering effects. This review discusses the current concepts and possible mechanisms of SGLT2I in the treatment of heart failure, myocardial infarction, hypertension, cardiomyopathy and arrhythmia to provide a reference for clinicians to use drugs more reasonably and scientifically.Copyright © 2022 the Author(s).
