    AbstractMeningitis remains an important cause of mortality and morbidity. Clinicians should be alert to this diagnosis and have a low threshold for investigation and treatment of meningitis. This article provides an update of current evidence and existing guidelines for the management of suspected acute meningitis in adults in the UK.© Royal College of Physicians 2022.
