AbstractOrthopedic injuries in children are unique in terms of the mechanisms of injury, pathophysiology, and healing. This article reviews the pediatric fracture patterns and common pediatric injuries or complaints seen in the emergency department, with an emphasis on management in the emergency department. Additionally, the approach to pediatric cervical spine injuries and child abuse will be described as it pertains to the emergency physician.
