AbstractMidodrine, a drug used to treat symptomatic orthostatic hypotension, may cause or exacerbate supine hypertension. We describe a case of a patient taking midodrine who exhibited severe hypertension during general anesthesia. Possible preventive measures to avoid this complication are discussed.
