AbstractSurvival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is predicated on a community and system-wide approach that includes rapid recognition of cardiac arrest, capable bystander CPR, effective basic and advanced life support (BLS and ALS) by EMS providers, and coordinated postresuscitation care.
