AbstractGenistein is a natural compound from the class of isoflavonoids found in high concentrations in legumes and soybeans. In this experimental study; we suggest that genistein might cause favorable outcomes in the hepatic surgery because of its protective effects on hepatic ischemia‒reperfusion injury (Tab. 2, Fig. 6, Ref. 28). Keywords: genistein, isoflavonoids, legumes, soybeans, hepatic surgery, ischemia‒reperfusion injury.
