AbstractAmongst electroencephalographic markers of anaesthetic-induced unresponsiveness, those that estimate loss of frontoparietal functional connectivity detect loss of sensory perceptual connection with the outside world, rather than full phenomenological unconsciousness. This transition to unconsciousness is manifest as further incremental changes in indices of electroencephalographic complexity.Copyright © 2023 British Journal of Anaesthesia.
