AbstractMedical emergencies occur always and everywhere. The care of patients on board means of transport is not possible with the quality and routine that takes place in ground- or air-based emergency services. Nevertheless, there are some concepts for patient care. The article describes typical emergency medical problems for the scenarios of train, ship and air travel and presents the existing possibilities for practical emergency medical assistance.Thieme.
