AbstractInfluenza-related pneumonia encompasses both primary viral pneumonia and secondary bacterial pneumonia, which may be difficult to differentiate clinically. A high index of suspicion, prompt initiation of antiviral and antibiotic therapy, and appropriate escalation to secondary/critical care are key to improving outcome.
