    AbstractAcceptance of the severely handicapped in our community is limited. It may be limited by lack of experience, as 'the chicken and the egg' syndrome applies--do we keep the handicapped away from the public because of adverse reaction, or does the public react adversely because the handicapped are kept away? I work with handicapped children and their families, and therefore the following article is related to children.
