AbstractA middle-age man presented with acute urinary retention and a history of passage of urine and stones through a fistula at the root of the penis of 7 years' duration. Computed tomography of the soft tissue penis revealed multiple calculi in the urethra. After an initial suprapubic cystostomy, he underwent Johanson's Stage I urethroplasty with excision of the fistulous tract and retrieval of the urethral stones. Intraoperatively, dense stricture of the distal penile urethra was found, with complete obliteration in places. A urethral stricture, if not promptly managed, can lead to devastating complications necessitating complex surgical management.Copyright © 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
