    AbstractCardiopulmonary bypass is usually used for rewarming and for providing cardiac support in patients with severe hypothermia and cardiovascular instability. We report the first case of accidental severe hypothermia associated with prolonged cardiac arrest that was successfully managed by venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
