AbstractSuccinylcholine has been indicted on account of the diverse risks associated with its administration, which include hyperkalemia, vagal arrest, and malignant hyperthermia. There is an increasing body of evidence, outlined here, that rocuronium is an acceptable alternative to succinylcholine.
