    AbstractIncidence of penetrating cardiac trauma is on the rise. With improved trauma care, an increasing number of these patients arrive at the hospital alive. An unusual case of penetrating cardiac trauma is presented that highlights the importance of thorough echocardiographic assessment of such patients.
