AbstractA case of an allergic reaction to synthetic oxytocin administered during cesarean section is reported. Epinephrine was more effective in improving the severe hypotension than ephedrine. The incidence of anaphylactoid reaction to oxytocin is very low, but this potential problem must always be kept in mind in daily obstetric practice.
