    AbstractStarting from February 2014, the Ebola virus outbreak had spread across West African countries within a few months and caused great concerns of the World Health Organization. Currently no effective vaccines or drugs have been available for prevention and treatment of Ebola virus infection. This paper gives a brief review of the epidemics and pandemics, the biological characteristics of Ebola virus, the potential antiviral drug targets, and research progress of vaccine and drug development against the virus.
