    AbstractMany observers believe that magnetic resonance has become the procedure of choice for lumbar spine imaging. This article includes discussions of technique, normal anatomy, degenerative disc disease, and the use of paramagnetic contrast agents. Numerous figures are provided to illustrate explanations.
