    AbstractDyspnea is a common symptom at the end of life. It occurs as the result of a complex mix of physical, biochemical, and perceptual components. When patients and their healthcare providers focus on the "numbers" related to oxygenation, rather than comfort, the individual's quality of life can suffer.
