AbstractAlthough pemphigus vulgaris rarely occurs in childhood, we herewith report the history of a 19-year-old patient with an apparent 4-year course of pemphigus. In this patient, as in every previously reported case of childhood pemphigus, oral lesions preceded the appearance of skin manifestations. The importance of early biopsy and adequate treatment with adrenocorticosteroids is emphasized.
