AbstractThis case report describes the history of a young female with a streptococcal toxic shock syndrome secondary to a puerperal sepsis. The syndrome was complicated by severe hypotension, reversible kidney dysfunction, adult respiratory distress syndrome, coagulation disturbances, myositis and rhabdomyolysis. This latter complication required amputation of both lower legs.
