AbstractThis case report describes a 35-year-old woman with a first depressive episode. She was treated with the serotonergic antidepressant citalopram for 12 weeks without therapeutic response. Low-dose amisulpride augmentation resulted in a significant clinical improvement. We hypothesize that the dopaminergic properties of amisulpride might augment the effects of serotonergic antidepressants in refractory patients.
