AbstractOccurring chiefly in epidemics during hot, humid summer weather, heatstroke dramatically demonstrates the consequences of uncontrolled body temperature elevation. It also illuminates the mechanism and management of unusual hyperthermic disorders associated, for example, with neuroleptic and anesthetic drugs.
