AbstractMagnesium deficiency has been linked with cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. Antiarrhythmic effects of intravenous magnesium in the patients who are not hypomagnesaemic were mainly demonstrated in the patients with acquired long QT syndrome. Parenteral administration should be considered in this type of ventricular tachycardia, because its use is safe and straightforward.
