AbstractOrganized by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), the European Lung Cancer Working Party, and with the support of several learned Czech societies, the 5th central European lung cancer conference was held in Prague from September 13th to 16th. Over 500 participants from different disciplines (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, chest medicine) attended the meeting, which was once again shown to be an important forum for interchanges. The various specialists involved in the management of lung cancer patients were able to discuss recent progress, problems to be resolved, and prospects for the future. The present article is designed to report the main communications relating to the most frequent type of lung cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
