AbstractWe present a classic case of Capnocytophaga canimorsus septicemia. C. canimorsus (from the Latin canis, dog; and morsus, a bite), formerly called CDC group DF-2, is a gram-negative rod that typically causes septicemia with disseminated intravascular coagulation in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent hosts.
