    AbstractThere are four major hypertensive disorders in pregnancy: chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia and chronic hypertension with superimposed preeclampsia. The indications and efficacy of antihypertensive treatment of the different hypertensive disorders are assessed. Advantages and disadvantages of different classes of antihypertensive drugs during pregnancy and lactation are described.
