AbstractA review of nursing literature indicates that presence is a widely accepted nursing intervention, yet very little discussion exists regarding nursing presence as an intervention with children. The author's purpose is to discuss the importance of nursing presence with children, provide information on ways in which nurses can operationalize and evaluate presence, and identify implications for needed research on presence with children.
