AbstractIn this report, a young female, who initially presented with left upper extremity pain, eventually underwent surgery for presumed thoracic outlet syndrome. Following surgery, she developed shortness of breath. Diagnostic studies revealed an elevated left hemidiaphragm secondary to injury to the phrenic nerve.
