    ImplicationsSupplementing a sevoflurane induction of anesthesia in children with IV lidocaine 2 mg/kg can suppress cough after tracheal intubation and thus improve intubating conditions. In addition, lidocaine minimizes blood pressure fluctuations after tracheal intubation.
