AbstractParoxysmal haematoma of the fingers (Achenbach's syndrome) is a rarely reported entity. It often occurs spontaneously or subsequent to minor injuries. Because of the sudden onset of intense burning pain and the subsequent development of haematoma, the patients are frequently alarmed. The etiology is still unknown. We report on 3 cases of paroxysmal haematoma of the fingers. The harmless nature of the condition is emphasized.
