AbstractThe purpose of this article is to explore some of the tools and technologies available in operations management in health care in general and in emergency medicine in particular. The intent is to stimulate the reader to explore some of these approaches and tools in further detail. Various theories are noted, but the intent of this article is to be eclectic so as to give the reader a feel for the rich variety of approaches available.
