    AbstractHealth-care organizations need to develop a strategy to ensure that all hospitalized patients receive appropriate thromboprophylaxis. This review describes an evidence-based model which could improve service delivery, meet national targets, save money and reduce the incidence of hospital-acquired venous thromboembolism.
