AbstractIn this article, electrical and pharmacologic cardioversion for atrial fibrillation is described in detail. Indications for cardioversion and management of pericardioversion anticoagulation also are discussed. Finally, management strategies for immediate recurrence of atrial fibrillation and cardioversion failure are offered.
